The Repair Process
At Fred Martin, Our full service Collision Center can help guide you through the repair process and get you back on the road as quickly as possible.
Estimate
Your vehicle is inspected and data is entered into our estimate calculator program. This data is compiled into an overall estimate to determine the cost of repairs. However, there is often hidden damage that cannot be seen until after the vehicle is disassembled. If there is hidden damage we will submit a supplemental estimate to your insurance company.
Approval Of Estimate
Your insurance company will review the estimate once it is complete and give the approval to proceed with the repairs. Once approval is granted, the repair process begins.
Disassemble
Hidden damage is often found during this stage. If hidden damage is discovered a re-inspection may be required if inner structural repairs are necessary, or additional parts may be ordered.
Order Parts
Required parts are ordered and availability is checked. Special order parts may take longer to receive. The repair process will not begin until the shop receives all necessary parts.
Structure Repairs
The vehicle's unitized body is returned to factory specifications. A computer based measurement system analyzes the frame of the vehicles to assure it is up to factory standards for the most accurate repair.
Body Repair
Exterior panels are replaced and any required metal finishing is complete. Sheet metal is installed and aligned.
Paint
All panels are prepared for paint, primed and sealed to assure good adhesion when top color and clear coats are applied with our state-of-the-art Global Expert paint booth.
Reassembly
Final moldings and detail pieces are put back on. The vehicle's systems are inspected to ensure they are in working order.
Detailing
Your vehicle will be exposed to dust during the repair process. We thoroughly clean the vehicle and road test it. A final inspection will confirm that the vehicle is returned to pre-accident condition..
